UDA primaries: Former CS Keter concedes defeat, congratulates winners
Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter has thanked his constituents as he concede defeat in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) primaries.
Keter lost the party’s ticket in the Kericho gubernatorial race to Dr Erick Mutai, a university lecturer in Embu, who easily secured the ticket after garnering 126,038 votes while Keter got half the votes.
Through his social media account, Keter lauded Mutai on his victory.
“I thank the great people of Kericho for turning up to vote peacefully in the just concluded nominations exercise. Congratulations to all winners I wish them all the best,” he said.
“To all my supporters, agents and teams, I convey my appreciation and gratitude for your support. God bless you and God bless Kericho. Happy Easter!!”
Keter was among notable politicians allied to DP Ruto who was floored in the just concluded nominations.
Other bigwigs who lost in the primaries include;
Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru, Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, Soy MP Caleb Kositany, Former Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Former Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi.
