The sibling rivalry in Kenya Kwanza coalition in Bungoma county pitting Ford Kenya and UDA has intensified after Mt Elgon MP Fred Kapondi claimed they were being used to revive Ford Kenya.

Kapondi said UDA candidates would no longer appear in joint campaigns with Ford Kenya.

Speaking at Kaptama in his constituency, the MP wondered how they could do joint campaigns and yet Ford Kenya leaders were asking electorate to vote out UDA candidates.

“We can’t walk with a team which has no respect to us,” said Kapondi.

He asked Ford Kenya chief Moses Wetangula to respect him and other UDA candidates saying they are equal partners in Kenya Kwanza.

“We can’t be used to revive the dead party, we shall carry out our campaigns the way we know,” he said.

Kapondi said all the Kenya Kwanza campaigns being carried out in the county by Wetangula and the ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi were purely Ford Kenya affairs.

He said Wetangula has never involved UDA candidates in his Kenya Kwanza campaigns. Kapondi said the UDA candidates who dare attend the Wetangula and Mudavadi rallies are always humiliated.

“What Wetangula is doing is to market his party because any UDA candidate who attends his rallies are always humiliated,” said Kapondi.
