Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua now says United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate William Ruto has “agreed” to include Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka should Kenya Kwanza win the August 9 presidential election.

In a statement on Wednesday, July 20, Mutua said Ruto will also include other Ukambani leaders currently supporting Azimio la Umoja in his government.

“As a principal of Kenya Kwanza, I have discussed our issues in Kenya at length, the key of which is inclusivity.

“To this end, I am pleased that William Ruto has offered to incorporate Kalonzo Musyoka and the other Ukambani leaders into a Kenya Kwanza government. That way, we can all pull together,” Mutua said.

He further said the Ukambani region has resolved to support Kenya Kwanza to clinch power next month.

“Today, the ground has spoken. The people of Ukambani, in the last three days, have shown their resolve to live a good life and to be in government.

“They have chosen Kenya Kwanza and will vote for William Ruto,” he added.

He also hit out at Azimio for “using” government resources to advance their campaign.

“It is clear that Azimio is using old-age dictatorship strategies like forcing chiefs, county commissioners, and even village elders to campaign for a losing Azimio.

“Kenyans are tired of being used and manipulated,” he stated.

Mutua left Azimio and joined Kenya Kwanza alongside Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi in May 2022.
