Raila currently enjoys 40 per cent support in Mt Kenya – Gladys Chania
By Mathew.Ndungu, June 15, 2022The political equation in the vote-rich Mount Kenya region has significantly changed to the advantage of Azimio la Umoja – OKA presidential candidate Raila Odinga weeks after he announced Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua as his running mate.
Currently, Odinga is enjoying 40 per cent support from voters in the expansive region and the matrix could change even further ahead of the August 9 elections.
According to Kiambu County Jubilee Party woman representative candidate Gladys Chania, most residents, especially men were undecided about who to vote for but have since made up their minds.
Chania says it is no longer a question of if but when Odinga will make the next government as voters from regions he got low votes previously have vowed to vote in his favour.
Kiambu voters back Raila
Speaking at Kameme TV’s morning show today, June 15, 2022, Chania said most voters, especially in Kiambu, have vowed to conduct six-piece voting in favour of Azimio candidates, a situation that will see Odinga have supportive leaders in his government.
“Odinga is now enjoying 40 per cent support from residents in Mount Kenya. Our people have decided it’s him and even those who were undecided before are now campaigning for him. In fact, most voters want to vote for all leaders allied to Azimio,” Chania said.
Chania is battling it out against United Democratic Alliance (UDA’s) Anne Wamuratha, gospel star Loise Kim, journalists Mercy Nungari, and educationist Mary Kirika among others.
The former TNA coordinator in Kiambu hopes to ride on her extensive career in psychology and political network to clinch the position held by the now Githunguri parliamentary candidate Gathoni Wamuchomba.
