Pamoja African Alliance candidate for Mvita parliamentary seat Mohamed Twaha has condemned attacks on his supporters on Tuesday.

Twaha claimed one of his rivals was using gangs to intimidate his followers.

“Yesterday I encountered groups of youth armed with long daggers and they confronted my supporters. It is likely they were targeting me,” he said.

He said the mob charged at his supporters and attacked them as they were returning from his rally in the Tudor area.

“It is unfortunate that such a thing can happen at this point and time when the entire country is preaching peace calling for peaceful elections,” Twaha said while addressing in Mombasa.

One of the victims, Touwa Elijah, said he sustained injuries on his face, ribs and legs when the youth attacked him. “They were asking why I passed by their candidate’s base,” said Elijah.
