List of top Kenya Kwanza leaders who escorted Ruto for IEBC clearance

Deputy President William Ruto was accompanied by a host of leaders allied to his Kenya Kwanza Alliance as he presented his nomination papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Among the leaders accompanying him are his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, and Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi.

Others are Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula, Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki who had been touted as Ruto’s possible running mate, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, Elgeyo-Marakwet County Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and a host of members of parliament among them Garissa Town’s Aden Duale who led the Muslim prayers before the leaders trooped to Bomas.

Currently, Ruto’s clearance by the electoral body is underway before he starts major rallies in the capital which will end at Kamukunji grounds.

Ruto is seeking to succeed his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta who has declared support for Raila Odinga, the Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya coalition party flag bearer as his preferred successor.

His, and Odinga’s clearance which is coming up tomorrow will change the political landscape of the country ahead of the August 9 polls.
