Kenya Kwanza Alliance has the highest number of representatives at the Kirinyaga County Assembly after scooping 19 seats out of 20 in the just concluded general election.

According to a gazette notice by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) listing all MCAs elected in Kenya, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has a total of 17 MCAs, Mwangi Kiunjuri’s The Service Party (2) and Jubilee Party (1).

Out of the 20 elected MCAs, only one is a woman.

Two MCAs retain seats

Only two MCAs in the county managed to retain their seats in the August 9 general election.

The two will now be serving their third term in the county assembly after being sworn in to perform their legislative duties.

Both were elected on a UDA party ticket.

Two former MCAs who were trounced in 2017 managed to make a comeback under UDA.
