Premier League side Manchester United kicked off their English Premier League 2020/20221 season on a high note with a 5-1 humiliation against Leeds United at Old Trafford.

The game would kick off with a standing ovation for newly signed Raphael Varane from Spanish giants Real Madrid on a four-year deal, with the Frenchman showcasing his number 19 which he will don for the red devils.

Varane, 28, is one of the most decorated players in world football and has amassed over 19 trophies in his career so far, including four Champions Leagues, three Spanish titles and the 2018 World Cup.

However, it was Portuguese maestro Bruno Fernandes show as he managed to score a hat trick in his first game of the season.

The game kicked off with Mason Greenwood and Patrick Bamford efforts on goal with clear scoring opportunities for their teams respectively, but both missed converting the opportunity.

Paul Pogba would find himself one on one with the Leeds United goalkeeper, however the Frenchman was not composed enough to slot in his first goal of the season.

Rafinha on the other side tried his trickery against the red devil’s defence with David De Gea coming out on top.

The Marcelo Bielsa team pressed hard for an opener, with Polish midfielder Mateusz Klich shot on target forced out by De Gea to keep the scores level at 0-0.

The Red devils however would brush off the constant attacks from the Marcelo Bielsa team, with United controlling the midfield through Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba, boasting with key passes to Bruno Fernandes.

Bruno would turn out to be tormentor in chief after receiving a sublime pass from Paul Pogba for Fernandes to squeeze it in. 1-0 in favour of Manchester United.

The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coached side would be rejuvenated with the first goal, as they searched and toiled for a second goal. Luke Shaw finding himself onside only to hit the side netting heading to the intervals.

Soon after the second half, a superb shot from Leeds left back would see the Bielsa side level the scores at 1-1, to the disappointment of united fans. Left back Luke Ayling with the equaliser.

Pogba would be at it again with another sublime pass to Mason Greenwood, who didn’t disappoint In front of goal to slot in the second goal for United. 2-1 in favour of Manchester.

However, it was goal galore as United slotted in the third goal just a few minutes after Greenwood’s goal to make it 3-1. Bruno with his second goal of the day.

With half an hour left on the clock, Bruno would receive a superb pass from Victor Lindelof from the centre of the field to slot in the fourth goal of the day. 4-1 in favour of united

The game would not end without Brazilian Fred Rodriguez registering his name on the scoresheet after receiving a superb pass from in form Pogba in the left wing to score the fifth goal of the afternoon. 5-1 scoreline of the day.

Highly rated and newly signed Jadon Sancho and veteran striker Andy Martial would be introduced for United with only ten minutes left on the clock, but United had already sealed their first win if the season. 5-1, the final score of the day.
