The embattled youngest widow of Uasin Gishu tycoon the late Jackson Kibor says she will never remarry despite oppression and hostility from her co-wives and step-children.

Eunita Kibor, 45, stated that she has opted to remain a widow to concentrate on raising the four children she was left with.

According to Eunita, no amount of hostility, mistreatment and oppression from ill-minded relatives of her late husband and other men will force her to remarry.

She also averred that having married to an old man, it would not be wise to remarry a man below his age following his demise noting that it would be a taboo to the Nandi community they both hails from.

“Before my husband passed away, we had a covenant that I should never remarry and I have vowed to stick to that covenant despite the challenges I am facing from my step-children and co-wives,” said Eunita (pictured with sone). Kibor who was a prominent politician cum farmer died at the age of 82 on March 16, 2022 at St Luke’s Hospital in Eldoret.

His remains were interred on April 1, 2022 next to the grave of his first wife Mary,at his Kabenes home in Soy Sub County.

The late tycoon is survived by three widows among them Josephine, Naomi and Eunita Kibor. He also left behind 27 children.

Her trouble with the co-wives and step-children, she argues, started three months after her husband’s burial.

“They started to scheme on how to evict me and my children from our Kabenes matrimonial home where I used to stay with Mzee,” said Eunita.

Eunita said the step-children led by Kibor’s eldest son Philip Kibor kicked her out of her matrimonial house before removing her mattress, utensils and clothes which he threw in the compound. “It is unfortunate that my step-son Philip has since occupied my matrimonial bed after kicking me out but I have since forgiven him,” she said.
