Rwanda’s National Team head coach, Frank Torsten Spittler, has unveiled a 38-man squad in preparation for the upcoming FIFA international friendlies against Madagascar and Botswana.

AFC Leopards Gitego

Among the notable inclusions is AFC Leopards’ striker, Arthur Gitego, who has been in fine form since joining the club during the January transfer window.

Gitego, who netted a hat trick in the League cup against PAC University and scored in Leopards’ recent 2-0 victory over Nzoia Sugar in the Kenyan Premier League, has earned his spot in the squad with four goals to his name.

Joining Gitego is Gor Mahia’s Patrick Sibomana, who played a crucial role in Rwanda’s stunning 2-0 victory against South Africa in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

The squad features 12 foreign-based players, including captain Djihad Bizimana from Ukrainian league leaders FC Kryvbas, left-back Emmanuel Imanishimwe of AS FAR Rabat in Morocco, and goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari of TS Galaxy.

AFC Leopards ace expected in training

The team is set to commence training camp on Monday, March 11, where Spittler will utilize the upcoming friendlies as part of the team’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho in June.
