Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s happenings.
Power outage
Kenya Power issued a notice informing Kenyans of power interruptions in select parts of Nairobi County.
The utility firm, in a statement, said there would be a scheduled outage from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in parts of the capital city.
Kenya Power said they planned to carry out planned maintenance in the larger Cabanas area of Nairobi county.
The affected areas include Dakawou Transporters, Clover Industries, Cabanas Stage, FEIL, Tuskys Headquarters, Embakasi Market, Gold Rock Development Ltd, and neighbouring customers.
KPL
Kenya Premier League (KPL) will today witness four matches; Sofapaka face off with Nairobi City Stars, Nzoia Sugar will clash with Muranga FC, Kariobangi Sharks take on Posta Rangers while Bidco United face Police FC.
CAF Champions League – Qualification
The 16 places in this season’s TotalEnergies CAF Champions League group stage will be determined today and Sunday when the final qualifying round second legs are played.
A total of nine matches will be played today.

The second leg of the qualifier round of the CAF Confederation Cup will today see action from 14 clubs.
Uganda’s KCCA FC host Libya’s Abu Salim at home with the visitors having an upper hand following a 3-1 win in the first leg.
EPL
Eight matches will today be played in the English Premier League (EPL) with league leaders Manchester City and other topflight clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool up in action.
The most exciting match today is undoubtedly Tottenham Vs Liverpool clash, both teams are jostling for the top league positions as they are currently two points apart sitting at positions four and two respectively in the table.
Manchester United will be keen to get back to their winning ways on home soil in the Premier League after their 31-match unbeaten streak at Old Trafford was ended by a 3-1 defeat to Brighton.
Red Devil face Crystal Palace whom they comfortably defeated 3-0 about a week ago in their Carabao Cup meeting.
Arsenal face Bournemouth who possess the longest current winless run in the EPL.
Man City seek to extend their 100% form in the EPL as they clash with Wolves today for their seventh match of the season. A win will see Pep Guardiola’s side 21 points on top of the table.
