National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has confirmed that the dialogue between the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition and the Kenya Kwanza coalition will be held at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

Speaking in Nyeri on Monday, August 7, 2023, Ichng’wah affirmed that the decision followed a consultative phone call meeting with Azimio co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka.

This loosely translates to:

“Today morning, I spoke with former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and we agreed that the venue for our meeting will be at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday, at 11.30 am and not at a hotel. I informed them that the government has no money to give allowances.

“We will meet and hold talks only centred on the people of Kenya,”

He also chided Azimio supremo Raila Odinga for issuing ‘threats’ and demands to the government ahead of the talks.

The politician affirmed that Kenya Kwanza was ready and committed to engaging in a dialogue based on mutual respect to resolve the country’s political impasse.

“We will not come to a table where you will threaten or blackmail us that we must give you what you want failure to which you go back to demonstrations. We want to agree with you, tuongee. Bring your issues to the table so long there are people-sensitive issues, not personal issues. We also demand that you respect the government that was elected by the people of Kenya in accordance with democracy,”Ichung’wah added.
