Margaret Kenyatta lauds county first ladies for leading grassroot transformation

Former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has congratulated county first ladies on their outstanding leadership and unity in transforming lives in their respective counties in a rare public appearance.
Speaking during the Leadership Programme for County Social Transformation dubbed Peer-to-Peer Learning and Collaboration Showcase at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) in Kabete on May 8,2025,Margaret acknowledged the first ladies’ dedication and applauded their grassroots interventions.
The former first lady also highlighted their collaboration with Beyond Zero and contributions to the Leadership Programme for County Social Transformation.
“To all the exceptional ladies here, your passion, friendship, and dedication, whether through your work in the counties, your years of partnership with Beyond Zero, or during the Leadership Program for County Social Transformation, have been inspiring,” she said.

In addition, she congratulated the county first ladies for their transformative work in improving the lives of women, children, and communities, praising their growth, programme expansion, and strong leadership.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of you for the transformative work you are doing to uplift the lives of women, children, and communities at large. We are particularly proud of the incredible strides made by the County First Ladies Association. Your growth, the expansion of your programmes, and your unwavering spirit are testaments to your leadership and unity,” she added.
She also expressed deep gratitude to all the partners for their generosity, expertise, and unwavering support, which have been essential to the collective journey.

“The progress we celebrate today is evidence of the power of strategic partnerships built on shared values and trust,” she noted.
The event, which brought together several county first ladies, partners, and key stakeholders, highlighted the innovative initiatives led by these women to improve the health and well-being of local communities.
The Leadership Programme for County Social Transformation is one of the programmes developed through a partnership between KSG, Beyond Zero, and the Margaret Kenyatta Institute for Gender and Social Development.
