One-time Football Kenyan Premier League (KPL) top scorer Manasseh “Chichi’ Imbo is one of those needy Kenyans who is being hounded out of their life hustles by the government.

It’s few minutes after 10.00 am and Imbo, a former Tusker, Meru Bombers and the defunct Kenya Pipeline FC striker, is positioned outside Makadara Law Courts in Nairobi where he helps motorists to park their cars at a fee.

Then all of a sudden, hell breaks loose when Imbo is forced to scamper for safety following a crackdown by city council askaris who are overly keen to enforce the Nairobi County’s by-laws.

Things are not made any better for the 36-year old by the presence of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) personnel who allege they are in command of the proceeds of the business at the usually busy precincts.

“Where do I go yet am the one who is depended on by my family to put food on the table? Where is Kenya headed to if what they deem we are doing is illegal. Do they want us to die? asked Imbo while appealing to Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to help him secure a decent job.

All this time, Imbo, a former national team Harambee Stars trialist who plundered 25 goals while turning out for Meru Bombers in 2005, is adorned in regular clothes which are out of the norm of his reflector jackets just to escape arrest.
