Seven scoop awards in Paul Bitok volleyball Tourney

Seven best players were awarded following the conclusion of the Paul Bitok International Volleyball Tournament held at Nyayo Stadium on Thursday.

The team of seven dubbed- the dream team, comprises players who displayed exemplary skills and contributed significantly to their teams’ success.

Paul Bitok Tourney MVP

Among the notable award recipients, Kenya Port Authority’s Peter Kamara stood out as the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament.

Aggrey Kibungei from Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) was honoured as the Best Server of the tournament.

Dennis Esokon from Prisons Kenya was recognized as the Best Outside Hitter, demonstrating his ability to deliver powerful and precise hits that left his opponents in awe.

Kelvin Kipkosgei, also from Prisons Kenya, received the accolade for Best Setter. His exceptional playmaking skills and ability to set up perfect opportunities for his teammates made him an invaluable asset to his team.

Brian Nyabera from KPA was celebrated as the Best Middle Blocker for his dominance at the net, effectively halting the opponents’ attacks with his impeccable blocking skills.

Elphas Makuto from Prisons Kenya was named the Best Opposite Player for his consistent delivery of powerful spikes and his contributions to his team’s offensive strategy.

James Mutero from Trailblazers VC was recognized as the Best Libero Player.

KPA Crowned Paul Bitok Champs

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) emerged triumphant in the Paul Bitok International Volleyball tournament held in Nairobi.

The tournament, which experienced a delay following the untimely passing of former Kenya Volleyball Federation president Waithaka Kioni, witnessed an intense battle among the top volleyball teams in the country.

KPA showcased their exceptional skills and determination, defeating Kenya Prisons by 3-1 sets to claim the championship title.

In the final match, KPA faced off against Kenya Prisons in a thrilling showdown. The team displayed exceptional teamwork, resilience, and skill, ultimately overpowering their opponents to secure a victory in sets of 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, and 25-18.

The match showcased KPA’s dominance as they consistently outplayed their rivals, leaving them struggling to keep up.

The road to the final was paved with intense competition and remarkable displays of talent. KPA had earlier triumphed over Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in the semi-finals with a 3-1 set victory, while Prisons secured their spot in the final by defeating Trail Blazers in a commanding 3-0 sweep.

The Paul Bitok International Volleyball tournament was initially scheduled to take place in Bungoma. However, due to a lack of adequate facilities in the original venue, the tournament was relocated to Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

Paul Bitok Tournament prize Money

As the tournament concluded, KPA emerged as the deserving champions, walking away with a prize of Ksh 100,000.

Kenya Prisons, despite falling short in the final, received a commendable reward of Ksh 50,000 for their notable performance throughout the tournament.

The Paul Bitok International Volleyball tournament not only provided a platform for intense competition but also celebrated the exceptional talent and unwavering spirit of the players, further elevating the sport of volleyball in Kenya.
