Jubilee party has announced that its headquarters will be closed on Monday, March 20, 2023, to pave way for its staff members to attend peaceful protests.

In a memo dated, Saturday, March 18, 2023, the party’s Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni, stated that the county, constituency and ward offices will remain closed as well.

“In compliance with the Azimio La Umoja, One Kenya Alliance’s leader Raila Odinga’s directive, please note that Monday, March 20, 2023, is to be considered a public holiday. As such our headquarters at Jubilee House, Kileleshwa as well as our cunty, constituency and ward offices will remain closed,” the notice reads in parts.

He subsequently implored party officials to turn up and stand in solidarity with citizens as they hold peaceful protsts on the day indicated.

“I urge you as party officials and in your individual capacity to turn and show up support to the people’s grand march on that day. Mungu mbele, mbele pamoja!” the statement added.

On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Raila unlawfully declared Monday, March 20, 2023, a public holiday.

At the time, Raila who was speaking during a political rally noted that his supporters will not be working on that day.

“I hereby declare, in the name of Azimio one Kenya Alliance, We declare that Monday, March 20 will be a public holiday,” Raila said.

The Azimio honcho affirmed that the protests will be peaceful and there will be no kind of violence.

“We do not want any kind of violence or bloodshed. It is going to be peaceful. We are only doing this because it is the only alternative that we have,” he stated.

“I hereby declare, in the name of Azimio one Kenya Alliance, We declare that Monday, March 20 will be a public holiday,” Raila said.
