Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga has maintained that his team will be moving to the Supreme court to challenge the outcome of the recently released presidential results showing William Ruto as the newly elected president.

Raila who strongly believes that the presidential results were tampered with at the last minute, reiterated that his supporters should remain peaceful while they seek legal redress.

“We have decided to move to court because we want to see justice served and peace prevail in our nation. We want to know the truth because some of the things that were done by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) before the announcement of the presidential polls are very questionable,” he stated.

While maintaining that his supporters should remain peaceful, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader further underscored the functionality of the commission highlighting that it was absurd that high-ranking IEBC officials differed on the outcome of the results moments before the announcement.

“I will follow the law and present evidence of the said malpractice before the Supreme Court bench who will then determine the petition,” he added.

Raila was speaking during a meeting with religious leaders who had paid him a courtesy call at his Karen residence.

Sifuna echoes Raila

Raila’s sentiments were further echoed by ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna.

Speaking during a Church function, Sifuna maintained that the Azimio faction will seek legal redress at the Supreme court.

He expressed optimism that they were armed with efficient lawyers who will help seek justice.

“We have Orengo, we have Otiende Amollo, if we were able to head to court and challenge the outcome in 2017 and we managed to overturn the results, will 2022 be any different? it is possible,” he stated amid cheers from the congregation.
