The race for premiership promotion at the national super league this season is full blown after two rivals fell along the way on Monday as the table structure changed.

APS Bomet FC and Zoo FC were the biggest casualties with their places being occupied by other teams as the season’s see-saw perfomance continues and the race for the lower tier league title gets hotter.

Only Fortune Sacco who are now at the top though on shared 41 points with APS got good tidings.

The Kirinyaga side won 2-1 against visitors Kisumu All-Stars FC at home in Kianyaga Stadium.

Sacco have been inconsistent before the Monday match where their previous two matches ended in a draw and a loss.

In the last five duels, the Kirinyaga County gem has won only twice with all eyes now firmly on the technical bench to ensure some tidy consistent performances with positive results.

The team has a +10-goal difference to their favour with the lowest goals conceded (17) in the division out of 23 matches played.

Fortune Sacco next face 14th placed Coastal Heroes at home as they seek to maintain their foothold at the apex of the League.

Meanwhile, previous league leaders APS Bomet were humiliated 2-0 by relegation-threatened Migori Youth at the Awendo Stadium to push them below Fortune Sacco due to inferior goal difference.

However, APS have a match in hand and could easily still eclipse but the glitch could very well be an advantage to the new table toppers.

Two draws in their last five matches have also slowed down the South Rift side which is under the tutelage of Charles Odera.
