Youngster Chespol to test her form in Netherlands
Former World Under 20 champion Celliphine Chespol will be in action at the FBK Games in Hengelo, the Netherlands today, a race she says has many implications.
Top of the agenda for the 2018 World Athletics Under-20 Championships 3,000m steeplechase winner is getting back to shape while also seeking to qualify for the World Championships that will be held in Eugene, Oregon, the United States of America on July 15-24.
“I have not had a smooth path in the past couple of years.
“Now every race has significance because I am working towards getting the best form, I am also racing against time to qualify for the World Championships,” she said.
Chespol who will be teaming up with World Under 20 champion Jackline Chepkoech at the Africa Senior Athletics Championships programmed from June 8 to 12 at Cote d’Or National Sports Complex, Reduit, Mauritius said she has overcome a turbulent year in which she suffered a road accident.
She said that it has been a season with mixed results for her and she felt better after hitting top form.
