Young Jebitok eyes Serbia indoor athletics medal

Olympian Edna Jebitok is eyeing a podium fi nish during World Athletics Indoor Championships that will be held from 18th – 20th March, 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia.

Speaking to People Daily sports former world under -18 1500m bronze medalist vvsaid she is preparing well for the indoors games and hope to do her best during the event.

“My preparation for world indoor so far is good ,I will go and do my best,” Said Jebitok, who was training on her speed at Kipchoge Keino stadium which is still under construction.

Jebitok has been selected by Athletics Kenya among others to represent the country in both 1500m and 3000m races. “I feel good to compete in both races and am confident I will perform well,” Jebitok said.

She has a personal best time of 4:03 and 8:45 in 1500m and 3000m respectively.

Jebitok said that after world indoors she will be targeting a slot in team Kenya for Commonwealth or world championships. She added that putting God fi rst in her endeavors is a priority as she wants to succeed in her running career
