Wanyika’s move reunites him with coach Anthony Kimani, with whom he previously worked at Bandari FC. While the club confirmed his signing on Thursday, they did not disclose the length of his contract.

“Ulinzi Stars FC is pleased to announce the signing of Michael Wanyika. The goalkeeper joins the Soldiers from Bandari Football Club. Welcome to Ulinzi Stars, Wanyika,” the club announced.

Wanyika previously held the captaincy at Bandari FC, a role he assumed in September 2022. He joined the club in 2019 as a replacement for Faruk Shikalo, who had transferred to Tanzanian giants Yanga.

Ulinzi Stars sign Stanley

In addition to Wanyika, Ulinzi Stars has acquired Ben Stanley from the National Super League team Migori Youth. Stanley, a midfielder who was on loan at Sofapaka, is another valuable addition to the squad.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Ben Stanley from Migori Youth! Welcome to Ulinzi Stars, Stanley,” the club announced.
