Tusker warms up to FKF-PL opener with win over Homeboyz

Tusker FC stretched their fine preseason run, registering a 2-0 win over Football Kenya Federation side Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

The victory at the Bukhungu stadium came courtesy of a first-half goal from Erick Kapaito before new signing Cliff Oruko wrapped up the scores.

The club had pitched camp in Kisumu for the final phase of their preseason preparations before making the short trip to Kakamega for the clash.

The preseason focused on assessing their levels of preparedness and sampling the club’s new arrivals ahead of the new season.

The Brewers have added fresh talent across all departments in preparation for the upcoming season, with 14 joining the 13-time KPL champions.

New entrants

Leading the list of new signings at the Ruaraka-based outfit is goalkeeper Brandon Nathan Obiero.

The defensive unit has been boosted with the addition of Eugene Ikutwa Shiponi (right back), alongside centre backs Francis Oduor Onyango and George Odhiambo.

In midfield, the Brewers welcome Issa Rashid Lumumba and Vincent Otieno Owino, both expected to add creativity and control in the middle of the park.

The forward line has seen the most reinforcement, with Dennis Ochieng Oalo, Cliff Omondi Oruko, Ronny Otieno, Yakeen Mutheli, Curtis Amos Wekesa, and Douglas Nyasosi Manga all joining the attack.

Others are David Polepole, who got promoted from the youth team and Eric Kapaito Muugi,

Meanwhile, the club is set to return to the capital ahead of the FKF PL kick off slated for Saturday, September 20, 2025.

The club opens their campaign with a clash against KCB on the first day of the opening fixtures.
