Tusker FC skipper Charles Momanyi extends stay at club
By Luke Oluoch, July 9, 2025Tusker FC skipper Charles Momanyi has committed his future to the Ruaraka-based club for an additional year.
The news of the former Gor Mahia centre back’s contract extension was confirmed by the club on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
“Club captain Charles Momanyi has extended his stay with the Brewers after signing a new contract that will see him remain at the club for one more season,” a statement from the club read.
Rock solid
“The experienced central defender has been a rock at the heart of the Tusker backline and a leader both on and off the pitch since joining the club. His commitment, discipline, and defensive prowess have made him an integral part of the team’s successes,” the club stated further.
Speaking after agreeing to the deal, Momanyi, who is angling for his fifth year at the club following his switch in July 2021, revealed his elation to continue his stint with the Charles Okere-coached side.
“It’s a great honour for me to continue this journey with Tusker FC. This club has become home, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together so far. I’m even more excited about what lies ahead. I want to thank the management, my teammates, and the fans for their unwavering support. Last season was not entirely how we envisioned but as a leader, we want to make sure we do better next season,” Momanyi told the club’s portal.

His coach, Okere, welcomed the new development on a player he termed an invaluable member of the Brewers’ squad.
Invaluable player
“Momanyi is more than just a captain; he’s a true leader and a mentor to the younger players. His presence in the dressing room and on the pitch is invaluable, and having him commit to the club for the long term is a big boost to our ambitions,” the coach said.
Momanyi’s new deal comes at a crucial time as the Brewers rebuild for the upcoming season with sights set on reclaiming the league title.
Already, the Brewers have confirmed the acquisition of Vincent Owino, who joined the club from Nairobi City Stars.
