By , September 9, 2025

Former Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions, Tusker FC, have confirmed a friendly match against league newbies APS Bomet as the Brewers prepare for the new football season that kicks off on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

The Ruaraka-based outfit will on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, take on the newly promoted side APS Bomet at the Finlays Ground in Kericho starting at 11 am local time. Last season, Charles Okere’s men bottled it at the end of the season to hand Kenya Police their first-ever Premier League title.

Tusker FC managed to finish fourth on the log with 57 points in 34 outings after they were regarded as title contenders alongside Gor Mahia and Police. The 13-time FKF Premier League champions will be keen to win their first title since 2022 amid the mounting pressure.

Tusker new signings

Meanwhile, Tusker FC have also unveiled new players joining the squad for the 2025/26 season after the transfer window officially closed. The Brewers have added fresh talent across all departments in preparation for the upcoming season.

The Thika Road club has signed 14 new players who are expected to strengthen their depth and inject energy into their campaign. Leading the list of new signings at the Ruaraka-based outfit is goalkeeper Brandon Nathan Obiero. The defensive unit has been boosted with the addition of Eugene Ikutwa Shiponi (right back), alongside centre backs Francis Oduor Onyango and George Odhiambo.

In midfield, the Brewers welcome Issa Rashid Lumumba and Vincent Otieno Owino, both expected to add creativity and control in the middle of the park. The forward line has seen the most reinforcement, with Dennis Ochieng Oalo, Cliff Omondi Oruko, Ronny Otieno, Yakeen Mutheli, Curtis Amos Wekesa, and Douglas Nyasosi Manga all joining the attack.

Additionally, David Polepole comes in as an attacking midfielder, while striker Eric Kapaito Muugi, a proven goal scorer in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, comes to add more depth and experience in the striking department.

As the new players settle in at Tusker, the club has also confirmed that striker Jacob Onyango has joined Bidco United on loan for the 2025/26 season. Onyango, who has been part of Tusker’s first-team setup since joining from Sofapaka FC at the start of last season, will link up with the Thika-based side in search of regular playing time and further development.

Tusker will kick off their new season with an encounter against KCB on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Nyayo National Stadium, starting at 1 pm local time.
