Sven Yidah reportedly among players released by Marumo Gallants

Kenyan midfielder Sven Yidah has reportedly been released by South African side Marumo Gallants.
According to the South African online publication Farpost, the club has released 16 players as they prepare to compete in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Yidah is said to have been released by the club alongside Abram Ngcobo, Ayanda Nkili, Maboke Matlakala, Mahlatse Makudubela, Pule Maraisane, Sibusiso Sibeko, Sibusiso Kumalo, Sizwe Mdlinzo, and Tshepo Gumede.

The list of players who have left the club also includes notable names such as Letsie Koapeng, who is rumoured to be joining Tanzanian giants Young Africans, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Joseph Molangoane, striker Judas Moseamedi, and defender Mpho Mvelase.

The publication also mentions that the club is facing a legal challenge from some of the players due to an unpaid bonus for reaching the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, as agreed upon. The players might take legal action to resolve the issue.
Yidah joined Marumo Gallants in August 2022, securing a deal after training with the team for a while.
Prior to that, he began his career at Ligi Ndogo S.C. Academy and later joined FC Kariobangi Sharks in January 2016, signing a four-year contract.
He extended his contract with Kariobangi Sharks for another three years, until the end of the 2021 season.
In September 2020, Yidah left Kariobangi Sharks before the end of his contract to join Nairobi City Stars on a two-year deal.

He gained recognition for his unique penalty celebrations against Mbao FC in the 2019 Sportpesa Super Cup, which became a sensation worldwide. He repeated the celebration after scoring a penalty against Everton in the Sportpesa exhibition match.
Throughout his career, Yidah has achieved several accolades. In 2016, he won the National Super League with Kariobangi Sharks and secured the GOTV Shield two years later.
Yidah was part of the squad that won the Kenyan Super Cup at the beginning of the 2018/19 season and also lifted the Sportpesa Cup with Sharks in 2019, earning a chance to face Everton.
