St Anthony pip Shanderema to book Dagoretti in KSSSA National football final
St. Anthony Kitale edged Western Region Champions Shanderema 1-0 at a packed Bukhungu Stadium, securing their spot in the Kenya Secondary School Sports Associational (KSSSA) football final.
The Solidarity boys have booked a date with Dagoretti High School in what will be a repeat of a pool B match which ended 1-0 in favour of Dagoreti.

The encounter remained a tightly contested affair, with both teams displaying remarkable defensive prowess, keeping the score level until the 29th minute.
It was the ingenuity of Javan Omondi that turned the tide for St. Anthony Kitale. Omondi’s perfectly executed cutback found the ever-alert Aldrine Kibet positioned strategically within the box.
Displaying remarkable composure, Kibet expertly slotted the ball into the back of the net, sending the St. Anthony faithful into raptures.
The first half concluded with St. Anthony Kitale maintaining their slender lead, as Shanderema fought valiantly but couldn’t breach the resolute Solidarity defence.
In the second half, Shanderema intensified their efforts, launching waves of attacks in pursuit of an equalizer. However, St. Anthony Kitale’s defence held firm, thwarting every attempt.
In the dying moments of the game, Shanderema’s hopes suffered a blow when they lost their goalkeeper to injury, further compounding their challenges. Despite their spirited efforts, they were unable to break through the formidable St. Anthony defence.
The victory propels St. Anthony Kitale into the eagerly anticipated KSSSA football final, where they will face a formidable Dagoretti in their quest for glory.
Dagoreti qualify for KSSSA final
Dagoretti qualified for the final after a post-match penalty win over Agoro Sare. Dagoretti netted the opening goal while Agoro Sare equalized in the second half.
The match could not be decided in extra time and in penalties, Dago netted three penalties while Agoro Sare failed to net any of the penalties.

The intense match concluded with a dramatic two-all draw in both regulation and extra time. Wiyeta Girls Kitale held their nerve and emerged victorious, sealing their place in the final following a 3-1 win.
