Sofapaka CEO Ronald Okoth steps down
By Nancy Marende, July 16, 2025Sofapaka Football Club Chief Executive Officer Ronald Okoth has officially stepped down from his position following the expiry of his contract.
In a statement on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Okoth expressed his deep gratitude to the club’s leadership, management, players, staff, and fans for their unwavering support throughout his tenure.
“I would like to formally announce that I have stepped down from my position as the CEO of Sofapaka following the expiry of my contract. It has been a great privilege and honour to lead this incredible club.
Okoth thanked Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa for trusting him with the responsibility of leading the club and acknowledged the collaborative spirit within the organisation that enabled them to navigate challenges and achieve key milestones.
“I want to take this moment to express my deepest appreciation to each of you. I am truly grateful to our club president for believing in me and to the entire management team, staff, coaches, and players.
“Thank you for the trust, collaboration, and dedication we’ve shared during my time in this role. It has been an honour to work alongside such a committed and passionate team,” he said.
During his tenure, Sofapaka made notable strides both on and off the pitch, with Okoth credited for helping steer the club through critical transitions and laying a solid foundation for its future ambitions.

“Together, we’ve navigated challenges, achieved key milestones, and laid a strong foundation for the club’s future. Thank you for the support, teamwork, and shared commitment to the growth of this great club. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, both on and off the pitch,” he added.
Despite stepping down from the CEO role, Okoth made it clear that his bond with the club remains strong and that he will continue to support ongoing projects and strategic initiatives.
“Although I will no longer be serving in the capacity of CEO, my journey with the club doesn’t end here. Sofapaka will always be home, & I will remain fully committed to supporting the club in every way I can, especially in assisting in ongoing strategic projects and initiatives we began together,” he said.
He also extended appreciation to the fans and partners of the club, calling on them to continue rallying behind Sofapaka.
“Thank you to the fans and partners for your unwavering support. As I look ahead to new opportunities, I remain committed to the values and lessons gained during this chapter. Let’s keep pushing forward & supporting Sofapaka FC,” he added.
