Rugby Africa Cup: Simbas to start campaign against Senegal

Kenya Simbas will start their Rugby Africa Cup campaign with a quarterfinal clash against Senegal in a showdown scheduled to take place at the Mandela National Stadium in Nambole, Uganda on Saturday, July 20 2024.
Should Kenya see off the West Africans, they will play against the winner of the Algeria versus Ivory Coast in the semi-final on Wednesday, July 24.
The final day of the tournament is set to takes place on Sunday, 28 July in Nambole.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Rugby Union has confirmed the 2024 squad with the former Kenya Sevens international Johnstone Olindi, now playing his club rugby in Canada also getting a call-up to the squad.
Andrew Siminyu, Malcolm Onsando,Thomas Okeyo as well as Edward Mwaura, Clinton Juma, Samson Onsomu, Beldad Ogeta and Emmanuel Silungi who were also in action during the Rugby Super Series and return to the squad after missing out on the last year’s internationals.
Timothy Okwemba, last capped in 2019 also makes a return while, John Okoth, Vincent Onyala, Brian Tanga, Samuel Asati and Lamech Ambetsa are away with Shujaa who are preparing to compete at the Olympic Games.
Jone Kubu is recovering from an ankle injury following successful surgery.
