Siaya FKF official Adur hails rise of local women teams

By , April 27, 2022

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Siaya branch women representative Dorothy Adur says she is extremely pleased with the uptake and level of competition coming up in Siaya County Women League (SCWL).

The first-ever women league in the county to have ever been staged is already drawing large crowds of football enthusiasts who have been gathering every weekend within their areas of residence to catch the glimpse of the ladies’ game.

Speaking at the weekend in Siaya town after watching a match between Ndere Ladies and Siaya Queens, Adur expressed satisfaction with the rapid growth of women’s football in the county.

She specifically pointed at how technically ladies’ teams are fast adapting to the game and playing beautiful football despite being first-timers.

As the inaugural league continued over the weekend, all home teams coincidentally got floored at their backyard with hosts Ndere Ladies losing 2-0 to visitors Siaya Queens.

In the second match at the same venue, fans left the field dejected after the homegirls, Ravens FC lost 5-1 to visiting Siaya Starlets.
