Shumah, Osoro move clear in KPL top-scorers chart
By Luke Oluoch, May 15, 2025The race for the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League golden boot moved a notch higher with FC Talanta’s Emmanuel Osoro and Kakamega Homeboyz hitman Moses Shumah moving to the summit of the goal scorers chart on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
The pair approached the mid-week games on14 and 15 goals, respectively, where Shuma’s strike against title-chasing Police FC saw him end Tusker’s Ryan Ogam’s(15 goals) extended stay at the top of the charts.
Osoro steals the show
However, it was Osoro who claimed the match week’s plaudits with his double against Tusker FC, lifting his season’s haul to 16.
The striker’s recent steady return of goals condemned Tusker FC to a 2-0 defeat, placing him as the league’s joint top scorer alongside the lethal attacker of Homeboyz.

Bandari’s Nyamawi Beja comes in at fourth after finding the net 12 times in the season. Nyamawi is tied with Shabana FC’s dreadlocked star Byran Migiro, who netted in his team’s Wednesday, May 14, 2025, victory over Bidco United.
Francis Kahiro wraps up the stellar group of net-bursters on double digits for the campaign, having scored ten times for the Patrick Odhiambo-coached side.
Kenya Police ace Mohamed Bajaber and Gor Mahia’s Austin Odhiambo follow in at 7th and 8th, respectively.

Despite Bajaber’s strike in the 2-1 defeat to Homeboyz counting as mere consolation, it moved the budding midfielder’s tally to nine.
Widely acclaimed as the starboy, Bajaber is tied with Odhiambo, whose nine goals include a couple of penalties converted for K’Ogalo.
Crowded list
Felix Oluoch, who has been the bright spot of Posta Rangers’ flickering run for the season, remains in contention for the top ten best scorers of the league, with his eight goals securing him a ninth spot.
Shabana FC’s youngster, Austine Odongo, wraps up the top ten with seven goals.
Others in a crowded company of players with seven goals include Sofapaka’s lanky striker Edwin Omondi, the former AFC Leopards midfielder Marvin Nabwire, who is Police FC’s lead scorer of the season, Joe Irungu of Murang’a Seals and Rangers’ season enforcer, Mwinyi Shami Kibwana.
