Shabana throw away first-half lead to share spoils with Tusker
By Kenneth Mwenda, October 5, 2025Shabana FC dropped their first points of the season after being held to a 1-1 draw by Tusker FC in an FKF Premier League clash at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
The result ended Shabana’s perfect start to the 2025/26 campaign, while Tusker finally picked up their second point after a poor run of form.
The hosts had gone into the fixture full of confidence following back-to-back wins over APS Bomet and Bandari, which placed them at the top of the table with six points.
The Glamour Boys started strongly, pressing high and forcing Tusker’s backline into early mistakes. Their efforts paid off midway through the first half when Shabana took the lead after sustained pressure in the box.
Simiyu inspires Tusker comeback
Tusker responded well after the break, making several substitutions, including the introduction of Ian Simiyu and Teddy Dok in the second half. The changes made an instant impact. Within minutes of coming on, Simiyu levelled the scores.

The equaliser lifted the Brewers’ spirits as they pushed for a winner in the final stages. However, despite a few promising breaks, both sides settled for a draw after a hard-fought 90 minutes.
The result leaves Shabana level on seven points with Posta Rangers, but they remain top of the table thanks to a superior goal difference of three, compared to Posta’s two.
For Tusker, the draw offered some relief after a winless streak that included defeats to KCB and Posta Rangers, and a goalless draw against Mathare United.
The draw keeps both teams within touching distance of the top as the league heads into its next round. Shabana will look to return to winning ways in their next outing, while Tusker aim to build on this result and finally record their first victory of the season.
