Shabana FC warned of fans’ misconduct in FKF Premier League matches

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has issued a stern warning to Shabana FC regarding the behaviour of their fans during Premier League matches.

While commending the club for their passionate and mobilized fanbase, FKF expressed serious concerns about incidents of unruly conduct by a section of Shabana’s supporters during recent matches.

In a letter addressed to the club, FKF acknowledged the positive impact of Shabana FC’s enthusiastic supporters, who have contributed to an electrifying atmosphere in the FKF Premier League since the club’s promotion.

“FKF wishes to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the mobilization of fans and the immense hype you have brought to the FKF PL since your promotion. Your passionate supporters have undoubtedly added an electrifying atmosphere to the matches. making them even more exciting to watch,” the letter stated.

However, the federation pointed out that certain fans’ misconduct, such as throwing objects and invading the pitch during celebrations, poses both safety risks and disrupts the smooth flow of the matches.

“FKF would like to bring to your attention a matter of great concern regarding the behaviour of a section of sour fans during recent FKF-PL matches. It has been noted and reported by the FKF Safety and Security department that there have been Instances of a section of your fans throwing objects and invading the pitch during celebrations, which are both dangerous and disruptive to the game,” the letter added,

The federation emphasized that the actions of a club’s fans reflect not only on the club itself but also on the entire league. FKF said that it is the responsibility of the club’s management to ensure that fans conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner.

FKF urged Shabana FC to take immediate action to address this issue and prevent any recurrence in the future.

To underscore the seriousness of the matter, FKF outlined potential consequences for further instances of fan misconduct.

These consequences could include fines imposed on the club, playing matches behind closed doors without spectators, and even point deductions from the club’s standing in the league.

“Please be aware that any further instances of such behaviour will result in severe consequences. These may include but are not limited to: Imposition of fines on the club, Playing matches behind dosed doors I.e without any spectators, deduction of points from your standing In the league,” FKF stated.

“We trust that you will take this matter seriously and address it promptly. We value the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship, and we expect all clubs to uphold these principles. We thank you for your kind attention to this matter,” the letter concluded.
