Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Shabana FC have insisted they will not move any of their home matches to Nairobi.

There has been pressure for Shabana to host Gor Mahia on Sunday, May 3, in Nairobi, but the club’s secretary general, Elizaphan Kerama, has insisted that is not going to happen.

One of the concerns raised is an expected huge turnout for the match, and Gusii Stadium to accommodate them has been questioned.

“I want to assure our fans that the match will not be moved. We have a designated home ground, which is a great venue.

“We’ve successfully hosted big teams like AFC Leopards here without any security concerns, and we look forward to welcoming Gor Mahia in May,” Kerama said as quoted by a local publication.

Safety

The Tore Bobe official further asked fans to turn out in large numbers as their security is guaranteed.

“We expect an exciting match and encourage fans to come out and enjoy what promises to be a spectacular game. It’s been a while since two well-supported teams played in Kisii, and we’re confident the fans will relish the occasion.”

“These are just rumors among fans. Nothing official has been discussed or agreed upon. While it’s good that people are engaging in discussions around the game, for us, it’s not an issue.

“Gusii Stadium is well-established, and we’ve had no problems this season. Fan safety is always a top priority, and we continue to review and improve where necessary,” Kerama added.
