Rough ride as Motocross enters round four
National Motocross Championship entered round four with sizzling action at the Jamhuri Motocross track Sunday as riders battled hard for glory.
Most of the action was witnessed in the MX-85CC and MX-125cc where big names had a go at each other in breathtaking heats.
The MX-85 class was more interesting with famous rider Natalie Cherono having a miserable outing.
In the opening two heats, she struggled heavily only managing fourth and third in both runs with Ryan Tiren winning all heats.
Cherono’s woes were compounded in the final heat where she was placed third. Her bike seemed to have problems since her pace was challenged immensely during the difficult outing.
Wahome Mutahi emerged second overall after pushing the leader for all the heats and eventually emerging with 51 points. The battle between the front pair was close at times giving the spectators something to cheer about.
In the MX-125 class, Neo Wahome stood tall, winning in all heats in classic style.
His manoeuvres and overtaking skills were impressive and he had all the time in his hands to open a safe lead.
Coming second in the competitive heat was Nandi Kiplagat who pushed her limits but could not really be a match for Wahome.
