Riveting action at Karting final in Athi River

Round 10 of the East Africa Motor Sports Club GP Karting action at Athi River was electric as the windows closed for a break.
The three class competition at Whistling Moran’s Circuit saw William Kim collect the Junior Cadet class, Myles Imbayi take the 60CC Rotex class while Roshni Dudhiya claimed the Commercial category.
The Junior category proved the most ecstatic as Yash Gohil left it late to attack and split the Kim siblings of William and Albert at the end of lap 10 in bullish fashion.
The 13-year-old Premier Academy student showed his grit in the finals after struggling in the initial heats where he finished third and fourth respectively but was nonetheless happy with his closing run in a calm afternoon after the poor morning weather.
“It is always a good fight against the Kim’s but I am happy it ended well. It has been a very tight season so we plan again for the next one when I will definitely be recharged,” Gohil told People Sport after amassing 88 points.
William and Albert have finished the season in the first two positions after what has been a tactful race and strategic push from the siblings. Kris Bhanderi was last in the class with 72 points on a day when he suffered mechanical issues on his Kart number 77.
In the 60CC category, Myles was dominant, taking all heats plus the final in quick times.
Krrish Vadgama was second after picking three runners-up slots but the overall second most pointed player was Ethan Gitonga who had 88 points.
