Redemption prospects for Gor and Leopards as Police eye summit

By , January 22, 2025

Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards will be out to make amends in the  three rescheduled FKF PL ties this Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Defeats saw the pair pass up chances to win on Sunday, January 19, 2025, and a return to winning ways top their priorities in the midweek duels.

Leopards will be out to turn the tables on KCB starting 3:00 pm at the SportPesa arena in Murang’a.

The bankers’ bright start to the season has propelled them to third place as the league hit the halfway mark and look to add more misery on Ingwe.

But the wheels seem to be coming off Patrick Odhiambo’s side whose recent results have failed to inspire.

The club has one win in their previous five games, with three draws registered on the timeline.

Meanwhile, Leopards are eyeing a second win in five games after edging Bandari and Tusker for their only victories in the last four games.

The side fell to a 4-2 drubbing last time out against FC Talanta in Dandora stadium.

In another match, Gor hosts Sofapaka FC at Kenyatta stadium in Machakos.

Heading into the tie, Batoto ba Mungu match Gor’s points tally of 24, and ranked just below their rivals at fifth on goal difference.

Sofapaka on form

Gor on their part seeks to banish an inconsistent start to the season. K’Ogalo has been blowing hot and cold this far with two defeats suffered in the last four league outcomes.

They have won twice in that time and will be gunning to further better their record with only a couple of wins against Sofapaka in last seven meetings pitting the two.

A 1-0 win in July 2024 handed K’Ogalo the honours in the first meeting though proceeding could prove tougher this time against Sofapaka side running high on a six-game unbeaten streak.

The match will kick off at 4:00 pm.

Police FC will be out to extend their fine run and add to their recent resurgence as they welcome Bandri FC in Machakos starting 1:00 pm.

A victory for the law enforcers is certain to push them past leaders Tusker and on to the top of the league. With 16 games played, Police are three points behind Tusker with a superior goal difference to boast of.
