In-form Posta Rangers nil Nzoia Sugar to go 7 points clear

In-form Posta Rangers have extended their lead at the top of the FKF Premier League table, now holding a seven-point advantage, following a 2-0 victory over Nzoia Sugar in a match played on Friday.

Posta Rangers have been on a remarkable winning streak, securing their fifth consecutive victory since their goalless draw against Bidco United on the opening day of the season.

In contrast, Nzoia Sugar entered this match on a two-game losing streak, with their only win of the season coming on the league’s opening day.

The first half of the match was closely contested, with neither team managing to break the deadlock. The second half began in a similar fashion, with both sides struggling to find the back of the net.

Posta Rangers finally managed to open the scoring in the 70th minute, with Kennedy Onyango finding the target to give them a 1-0 lead.

They secured their victory when Brian Otieno netted the second goal in the 83rd minute, further solidifying their lead.

In the final seven minutes, Posta Rangers successfully held off Nzoia’s attacks, maintaining a clean sheet.

With this win, Posta Rangers have accumulated 16 points out of a possible 18, having won five matches and drawn one of their first six fixtures.

John Kamau’s side boasts the best defensive record this season, conceding only one goal in six matches and keeping five clean sheets. Additionally, they have been the most prolific offensive team, scoring a total of 10 goals.

Their next challenge will be against FC Talanta.

Meanwhile, Nzoia Sugar currently sits in 15th place on the league table, having collected five points from six matches this season.
