Orongo sets sights on premier league promotion with MOFA
By Joel Masibo, July 29, 2025Newly unveiled Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) strength and conditioning coach Dick Orongo has set his sights on helping the National Super League team earn promotion to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League in the shortest time.
Speaking to People Sport on Monday, July 28, 2025, Orongo said he has gathered enough experience handling the national team, hence is ready enough to guide the NSL outfit to the country’s top-tier league.
”Having been with the national team has helped me get the necessary skills to succeed at MOFA. Our main goal is to get promoted to the Premier League as soon as possible,” Orongo said.
In a statement on Monday, July 28, 2025, the Homa Bay-based NSL club confirmed the tactician will be joining the team next season.
“MOFA FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Dick Orongo as the club’s new Strength and Conditioning Coach. Coach Orongo brings with him solid experience and credentials, holding a Strength and Conditioning Level 1 certification. He joins us from Kisumu All Stars and currently serves with the Kenya U17 (Emerging Stars) and U20 (Rising Stars) national teams, evidence of his growing reputation in developing athletic performance among elite youth players, “part of the club statement read.
Duties
According to MOFA, Orongo’s responsibilities will be keeping players fit at the highest levels as well as guiding the team through injury prevention techniques and physical development.

Speaking on what lies ahead of him, Orongo said he is not under any pressure in his duties at MOFA, further affirming his readiness to help the NSL outfit climb the ladder of Kenyan football.
”Challenges are everywhere; it is only the environment that changes. I am ready for the tasks ahead and for the entire technical team. I believe I have all it takes to succeed at MOFA.”

The club on Friday announced the arrival of Bruno, with the trainer setting a target of achieving promotion to the Football Kenya Premier League.
The trainer holds a Level 1 Strength & Conditioning certification, is the latest acquisition by the National Super League side after the arrival of coach Charles Bruno.
