Omumasaba earns Kenya’s second medal at Continental Beach Games

Kenyan wrestler Mark Omumasaba secured a silver medal in the men’s 90kg category at the Africa Beach Games held in Hammamet, Tunisia on Wednesday.

The victory came after a hard-fought battle against South Africa’s Machiel Johannes Grobler, whom Omumasaba defeated with a resounding 3-0 victory in the silver medal match.

Omumasaba’s journey to the podium was filled with ups and downs. Just last month, during the African Championships in Tunisia, he faced Grobler and suffered a defeat.

However, this time around, Omumasaba was determined to rewrite his story and prove his worth. “I really feel delighted. I have grown in the game from my first bout in the morning. I was calmer when I approached this game, and I am happy to have won my first-ever medal in these games,” expressed an elated Omumasaba after the match.

The Kenyan wrestler acknowledged the challenge posed by his opponent, recognizing Grobler’s skills as a formidable wrestler.
