Harambee Stars skipper Michael Olunga and his Al Arabi teammates resumed their league campaign on a winning note, edging Al Wakrah 1-0 in a Qatar Super League (QSL) match played on Wednesday, January 7, 2025.

Olunga, who was entrusted with the leadership role as the team’s captain, provided the assist to the all-important strike dispatched by former Real Betis star Rodri.

Fine run against Wakrah

The goal came in the 39th minute, with the record league champions holding on to claim maximum points on enemy territory.

The assists stretched the talismanic striker’s fine show against the league rivals, coming after his debut league goal in the 2-2 draw against Wakrah moments after his transfer from Al Duhail to Al Arabi in August 2025.

The Harambee Stars poacher currently has racked up two assists and eight league goals for the 12 games he has featured in for his new club.

Olunga powered his club to a dominant 5–1 victory by scoring the double. Former EPL star Pablo Sarabia also notched a brace (24’, 40’), with Yazan Al-Naama sealing the win with an 81st-minute strike.
