FOOTBALL: Chemelil Youth FC, bolstered by Kenya Under-15 captain Edwin Anan Okumu, within its ranks, cruised to a 2-0 victory over Nyakunguru, securing a spot in the Safe Teens Bright Future tournament semi-finals.

The host team, Chemelil Youth FC, boasted five key players—Okumu, the younger brother of France-based Harambee Stars defender Joseph Okumu, Joseph Remmy Onyango, Joseph Bate Onyango, Vonwicks Odhiambo and Brian Melabi.

These players participated in the recently concluded Cecafa Under-18 tournament held in Kenya. They secured the opener in the 57th minute after a closely contested, goalless first half.

Vonwicks netted the ice-breaking goal in the quarter-finals of the tournament at Chemelil Sugar Sports Complex over the weekend, latching onto a cross by Griffins Odero. Chemelil Youth scored their second goal in the 72nd minute through Jerry Omurabi, capitalizing on an assist by Moses Odero. This secured their spot in the tournament semi-final.
