Official: Mohamed Bajaber joins Tanzania’s Simba SC from Police FC

The move was confirmed on Saturday, August 2, 2025, via Simba’s official social media platforms.
“Karibu Simba SC, Mohamed Bajaber,” the club wrote in a brief statement posted on X.
The 22-year-old, who has had a remarkable rise in Kenyan football, becomes the latest Harambee Stars player to make a big move abroad. Bajaber’s switch comes just few days after his exit from Police FC, following a standout campaign in the FKF Premier League.
Bajaber had started the 2024/25 season with relegation-threatened Nairobi City Stars before making a mid-season move to Police FC. There, he played a vital role in helping the law-enforcers win their first-ever league title. His rapid development did not go unnoticed, as he also earned a national team call-up under coach Benni McCarthy.
In his debut for Harambee Stars, Bajaber made headlines after scoring a beautiful equaliser against The Gambia, coming off the bench to curl the ball into the top corner. That goal further increased interest in the midfielder, both locally and abroad.
Bajaber seals Simba move
Bajaber has signed a two-year contract with Simba. The transfer is said to cost the Tanzanian club Ksh12.9 million ($100,000), earning Kenya Police a hefty profit, having only spent Ksh1 million to sign him from Nairobi City Stars earlier in the season.
The timing of the move, however, meant that Bajaber had to pull out of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which began on the same weekend. He had been named in Kenya’s final 25-man squad for the tournament, but left the camp due to a thigh injury and to finalise the Simba deal.
Despite his thigh strain, Simba are hopeful Bajaber will recover in time for pre-season friendlies in Egypt, ahead of a busy league and CAF Champions League campaign.
With this transfer, Simba SC not only gain a creative attacking midfielder but also boost their squad with a player tipped to be among Kenya’s future stars. For Bajaber, it is a major step up, offering a bigger platform and a chance to shine in continental football.
