NSL: Mulembe United, Kisumu pick maiden wins
In the FKF National Super League (NSL) round three action, Mulembe United FC secured their first victory in the by defeating MCF 2-1 at Mumboha Stadium.
Kaguta Gordick opened the scoring for the hosts in the 32nd minute and played a pivotal role just before halftime by setting up Ondati Kephas for their second goal.
MCF managed to pull one back with a late strike from Omwambura Rama in the 86th minute. The win saw Mulembe United move to 14th with three points.
Other NSL matches
Luanda Villa and Rainbow FC played to a 1-1 draw on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Vapor grounds.
Luanda Villa had more opportunities, but Rainbow FC managed to take the lead against the run of play when Dulmant Mustafa found the back of the net, giving Rainbow the advantage at halftime.
In the second half, Luanda Villa’s persistent efforts to level the score paid off when Rajab Kagota netted the equalizer. Villa continued to press for a winner, but the match ultimately ended in a draw.
Kisumu All Stars beat Migori Youth 2-0 in a league match played on Sunday, ending their winless streak.
At the Hope Center, Mathare United claimed a 2-0 away victory over hosts Darajani Gogo, with goals coming from Ochola Parmenas and Asieche Elli.
Naivas currently tops the table standings after round 3.
