Deaflympics star Loreen Ng’ong’a has been accorded a befitting homecoming party by the Sports department of her home county of Busia.

Ng’ong’a was among over 40 athletes who represented the country at the 24th Summer Games in Brazil, emerging 5th in 5,000 metres in a time of 18.34.

Speaking during the event she noted that the harsh weather in Brazil during the Games negatively affected the performance of many athletes.

She was however delighted that she managed to beat the coldness to finish among the top five in the race.

Busia Chief Officer of Sports Maurice Odundo hailed Ng’ong’a for finishing in a respectable position against world-beaters.
