National Super League standings change after Zoo, Love are relegated
Following the vacation of Kericho Zoo FC and Dandora Love FC from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Super League due to the football management stalemate, the standings have been reorganised.
The pair have been relegated and their second leg points deducted. The table-toppers APS Bomet FC and Fortune Sacco still maintain their stature but with a three-point difference. There is an average of four matches left to complete the season for the 18 remaining teams.
This means that the trio of Murang’a Seal FC, Shabana FC and Mully Children’s Family FC still have a shot at the playoffs spot. Third-placed Muhoroni Youth FC is on 53 points from 31 matches. MCF and Shabana are tied on 30 games played and have 51 points and 50 points respectively on the log.
Murang’a Seal who have played 29 matches are in the playoff’s qualification mix as they stand on 49 points after a run of good form in recent weeks.
The Seal have three wins and a single loss in their last four matches. The Central Kenya-based team have 16 wins,4 draws and 9 losses. They have at present standing a goal difference of 10 having scored 45 goals and conceded 35.
On the bottom end, Mwatate United will now have to be content with a playoff spot with the third finisher in the FKF- Division One Championship at the close of the season.
Coastal Heroes who were staring at relegation might be safe having 30 points off 29 matches. The case of Gusii FC on 24 points and also in the red zone will likely be decided if at all they will survive.
