Nasokol Girls storm into semis after stunning Mogotio

Nasokol Girls have underlined their title credentials after storming into the semi-finals of the Rift Valley Term Two games with a commanding 4-1 victory over Mogotio at Hill School grounds, as arch-rivals Trinity Girls now await them in what is expected to be a mouth-watering clash. 

Naskol Girls’ victory on Thursday, July 10, 2025, comes on the back of their impressive performance in the pool stage, where they won all their matches. 

Captain Naomi Mokeira expressed confidence in her team’s chances, especially against their arch-rivals, Trinity Girls, in the semifinals. 

“We know our opponents well, and we’re going to repeat the same win we did in 2023,” Mokeira said, highlighting the team’s familiarity and past success against Trinity. 

Coach Lydiah Nekesa praised the team’s performance but noted areas for improvement. 

“The match was good, and we’re going to improve on minor mistakes.” 

She also mentioned the challenging weather conditions.

“The weather is challenging since we’re used to high altitude, but this is very cold, interfering with our game,” added Nekesa. 

The stage is set for an exciting semi-final match between Nasokol and Trinity Girls. 

In volleyball matches, Kesogon Girls dominated Iraa 3-0 in a quarterfinal, winning all their sets (25-9, 25-8, 25-3). As the favourites, they lived up to expectations with a thrilling performance. 

Kesogon’s performance indicates they’re a force to be reckoned with in the volleyball scene. 

They were the favourites to win, and their performance lived up to expectations.
