Naivas, Kajiado FC headline weekend NSL action

High flying Naivas FC who currently lead the National Super League standings unbeaten on seven points, will be keen to extend their advantage this weekend as they prepare to face lowly Mully Children’s Family FC tomorrow in a Round 4 clash.
The game to be played at Thika Stadium Saturday will give the Retailers some sense of inspiration especially if they pick full points. Head coach Elvis Ayani, however, knows nothing can be taken for granted and is rallying his troops to go all out for a win in what could very well be a statement of intent.
On the contrary, MCF based in Machakos County have started the season in poor form having already lost two games and drawn one to put them in 18th place with a single point a-3 goal difference to boot. The team coached by Bernard Kawinzi knows time is of the essence to pick a win lest they be left behind in a competition that is always ruthless.
Meanwhile fifth placed Kajiado FC lock horns with coastal based SS Assad in eighth place in a game to be played at Shanzu Grounds. The former, who are on six points after picking two wins in their last three matches, are solid at home but have only a goal difference of +1 which makes their backline vulnerable. Assad on their part have four points off three games despite losing 3-1 against neighbours Coastal Heroes FC last weekend. Kajiado also lost 2-0 away at Mulembe United which will make this encounter a must watch.
Elsewhere, third placed Mara Sugar FC are away to bottom place Silibwet Leons FC in a match to be played tomorrow at Bomet Stadium. The hosts, who have only amassed a single point in the past three games, have had a bad season right from the last one and still seem to be struggling for stability. Mara will be going in with big hopes and relying on their recent good records against Silibwet.
In other weekend games lined up; Mombasa Elite FC host newbies Rainbow FC in what should be a good tour for the Nairobi based side under Stanley Okumbi. Rainbow currently is in 12th place with a solitary win in three matches and will be looking at getting positive results on the road. Their opponents are one point ahead (5) and in 11th place. In an early relegation scramble,17th placed Migori Youth FC are still suffering nerves but host an equally disappointing Darajani Gogo FC in 18th place at Awendo Green Stadium Sunday.
