Nairobi United has been promoted to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League for the 2025/26 season.

This comes after a 2-1 win over rivals 3K FC on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Dandora Stadium. A double from Francis Ouya sealed the deal for the high-flying National Super League side.

Ronald Karenwa’s strike counted as mere consolation for the Embu-based outfit.

The win secured a 19th league victory, cementing the team’s stranglehold on the league proceedings with 66 points.

The club has so far registered nine draws and suffered four losses, with three games to conclude the league campaign.

The team’s closest challengers in the league were APS Bomet, with Naivas FC and Kibera Black Stars also making up the chasing pack.

Impressive season

In addition to the impressive feat in the National Super League, Naibois have enjoyed an impressive run in the Football Kenya Federation Shield Cup.

Nicholas Muyoti’s boys eliminated 2023 champions Kakamega Homeboyz in the competition’s quarterfinals on May 1, 2025.

The win was part of the team’s sequence of giant-killing displays, having also bundled out Kenyan Premier League duo Tusker and KCB in the competition.

The club is among the remnants in the cup tournament chasing a spot in next year’s continental football alongside Gor Mahia, Murang’a Seals, Mara Sugar, and reigning champions Police FC.

The club next prepares to face the winner between Police and Mara Sugar in its hunt for a place in the finals.
