Maasantare, Ololunga teams to beat as Governor Tunai Cup kicks off

Maasantare and Ololunga FC are the top contenders as Narok county Governor Samuel Ole Tunai cup entered the penultimate stage in wards level across all the six sub-counties.

Top seed Maasantare garnered six maximum points to top Pool A lower zone in Narok South.

They saw off Moyongo 1-0 before beating Iltirben with a similar scoreline.

In another group match, Youngsters drew 1- 1 with Eor Ewaso.


In Pool, B, Ololulunga skinned Olgilai 4-0, then humbled Olrien 3-1. Ciderland beat Nkoben 2-0, Nkoben.

Each of the county’s 30 wards will produce two teams for the finals at the William Ole Ntimama Stadium on December 12, 2021. Six ladies teams will also take part.

The tournament sponsor Governor Ole Tunai said he is impressed with the performance of all the teams that have participated so far.


“My mission is to nurture and empower talents among the youths and select the best players to form Narok United which will participate in the FKF competitions” Tunai reiterated.

Narok County FKF Supremo Peter Karino has hailed the tourney, urging all teams to adhere to FIFA rules and regulations.

All participating teams will receive uniforms and balls, according to the tournament coordinators Moses Ntiyia and John Koilel.
