Kibera beat APS Bomet away as SS Asaad pip Dandora Love
By Barry.Silah, March 13, 2022
The prediction went according to script as APS Bomet lost 1-3 to KIbera Black Stars in one of the Round 16 of the National Super League at the weekend.
Despite having a new tactician in Charles Odero, Bomet found the going really tough against a Stars side which was thirsting for maximum points at their backyard in Camp Toyoyo.
Interestingly it was Odero’s counterpart and former play-mate Paul Ogai who managed to grab his first win since joining the slum-boys barely a month ago.
Following the result, Bomet dropped to second in the standings with 30 points from 16 matches.
In the past five matches, the South-Rift side has had an indifferent run with only two wins to their name.
In the meantime, Fortune Sacco are now on top of the log with 32 points, thanks to a narrow 1-0 win over Zoo FC at Kianyaga Stadium.
Elsewhere, two coast sides SS Assad and Coastal Heroes had a successful weekend with convincing wins at home.
Newcomers SS Assad demolished Dandora Love 5-2 at Shanzu Primary School to move two places to 14th and on 20 points.
This was Assad’s fifth win of the season after a poor start to the championship and with it, the team seems almost safe from relegation.
Dandora Love under James Nandwa have now conceded 36 goals in 16 matches and are currently in 15th on the table.
This was their eight loss of the campaign against only six wins and at the moment look to be struggling. In another match across at Mbaraki Grounds,Coastal Heroes thrashed visiting Muhoroni Youth 4-1 to move to 10th on the log with 21 points. This was a good recovery from last weekend’s 3-1 loss to Silibwet Leons away and now the team is firmly at the halfway line.
